First Summer Trip

Nathan and I just got back from NYC, spent 4 days in the city staying at one of my college roommates apartment on the upper west side.  It was a great trip but doing all we did in those 4 days, we both were exhausted by the time we got home.  After our flight was cancelled out of Jacksonville, Matt drove us to Orlando to catch a flight out.  If it wasn't for him we would of missed the trip all together.

I was able to get Nathan and I from Laguardia to Manhattan but taking the bus and subway.  I was so nervous about it but actually it wasn't too bad, I was able to get help from an older man on the bus.  We traveled all over Manhattan by subway, going to the ground zero memorial, NYSE, Battery Park, Staue of Liberty/Ellis Island, FAO Swarz, Times Square, Little Italy, Central Park, Museum of Natural History, and Penn Station to catch the train to Long Island to have dinner with my grandparents.  Like I said it was a very active trip for the two of us but we loved it every minute of it.

Yesterday Matt and I closed on our new place.  We hadn't said anything about it to anyone because we weren't sure if it would really happen.  It is a HUD property, 1.67 acres with some great oak trees and a older double wide mobile home with an addition.  We were able to pay for it with cash and if we are happy living in that area after a few years we will probably build a house on it.  Otherwise we will use it as a rental and buy another property.  We really just wanted to get some land and away from a neighborhood. It needs some work but once we get it all done I think it will be a great place for us. I can't wait for Matt to build me a chicken coop and get some chickens, but I know there are other more important things that need to be done first.
